ABOUT

Tom Russelll was born near Kirkintilloch, Glasgow in 1948. He trained as a mechaniical engineer with the Ministry Of Defence, drove a stock car for a season, joined the parachute regiment for two years, played guitar in a band called Strange Brew and opened his first record shop in Bishopbriggs, near Glasgow in the 1970s

He opened three other record shops and began presenting a weekly show on Radio Clyde, specialising in rock music.  The show was called The Friday Rock Show and it ran on Radio Clyde for over 20  years.

When 96.3 Rock Radio opened in Glasgow in January 2006 Tom was invited to go full time and present a four hour daily show, playing rock music. The station changed hands, changed format and eventually closed down in 2015

In 2016 however, it was announced by Ofcom that a group of rock fans with business experience had been awarded a licence to bring back rock radio to the Greater Glasgow area ...... the station should be on air in 2017
